Geological hotspot Partnachklamm and Wetterstein Mountains – Garmisch Partenkirchen

Veranstaltungsbeschreibung

– Geology in the Zugspitze region –

The most impressive geotope of the Garmisch Partenkirchen region in Upper Bavaria is certainly the Partnachklamm gorge. 700 m long and up to 80 m high towering rock faces form the backdrop through which the wildly foaming water shoots. Adits and bridges make the gorge accessible all year round. The tour starts at the ski stadium in Garmisch Partenkirchen up to the Graseck Alm. From the gorge bridge you can look almost 70 m into the depth. The excursion offers a lot of information on the biodiversity of the region, on reintroduced wildlife species and on the past and present use of the gorge.
